Artist Statement...
As a post-modernist mixed media artist, my focus lies in the intricate symbolic and psychological dynamics that unfold within the intimate realm of human habitation.
Driven by my first-hand experience with cross-cultural contrast, I delve into the relationship between man and the space in which he resides, viewing the concept of home not merely as a physical structure but as an autonomous entity with the power to shape both the physical and mental experiences of its inhabitants. If a building can be therapeutic, can another want you dead?
Much of my work is expressed in writing, charting and consequent construction of interactive spaces – physical and digital, thus also exploring the residential aspects of archaic personal websites.
Tapping into the ethereal feelings of zeitgeist nostalgia, as well as tangible anxiety and scrutiny of the modern-day urbanist ethos, I encourage people to take a deep look at the intricate relationships that bind us to our surroundings and the evolving technological and humanitarian landscapes.
